A Hoyl was a mythical bird in the Garden of Eden. According to the myth, the hoyl was the only creature that refused to eat the forbidden fruit. As a reward, it was granted a kind of immortality. Legend has it that the bird never dies but only goes to sleep, after which divine fire destroys it leaving an egg and from this egg a fully grown hoyl hatches anew.
